October will see Securiton leave Birkenstrasse and move into the new building on Alpenstrasse. A lot of work had to be done, first by the construction workers, then increasingly by the various tradesmen who worked tirelessly installing the fixtures and fittings. Our staff in Zollikofen, who are preparing for the move, also had to devote an ever-increasing proportion of their working hours to the new building.
Moving a factory is no small feat! It goes without saying that not everything is completely finished at our new place of work. In particular, it will not be possible to start work on the surrounding area until next spring. Various interior fittings are also not yet complete. What we can already enjoy – especially on fine days – is the beautiful scenery of the area, especially the Alps in their autumnal glow. What does the new building look like inside? The factory section is located in the basement, ground floor, first and second floors, while the offices are located on the third floor.
On the fourth floor – a slightly set back attic, as can be seen on the picture above – there is a spacious demonstration room, a modern canteen, a first aid room and two apartments. The floor plans (scale 1:1000) outline the broad layout of the building. The head office will now also be based in Zollikofen, leaving the previous premises on Seilerstrasse, where it had been based since 1930. Some of the vacant offices will be taken over by the branch, which will of course remain in Bern. We hope that everyone will soon feel at home in their new place of work and that the many benefits of the new building will compensate for the loss of their trusted old offices.
