A quarter of a century has passed and we are only just getting started. In its first 25 years, Securiton has experienced an eventful history that was closely linked to the career of technical director Hans Kuhn. With a great deal of innovative spirit and passion, he has turned the small company subsidiary into a serious force on the Swiss market.
Securiton AG was officially founded with its entry in the commercial register in July 1948. A lot of water has passed under the bridge between then and now. The early days of the company are closely linked to the career of our technical director, Hans Kuhn, who was already employed 14 days before it was officially founded. Securiton’s first “offices” were located in the home of Hans Kuhn in the district of Hohliebe in Bern, where he developed the first Securiton systems on his kitchen table. The expertise and care shown laid the foundations for the technical concept for our security systems, which still applies fully to this day.
Much has also changed in terms of technology over the past 25 years. A great deal of work and expertise had to be invested in moving from a tailor-made alarm system to one that can be manufactured industrially while still meeting most of the customer’s needs, not to mention taking part in the general technical development that has led us from relatively simple electromechanics to complex electronics. Hans Kuhn plays a key role in both the company’s constant growth and its technical development, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank him most sincerely for the great work he has done for the company over the past 25 years.
However, Securiton owes its thanks not only to one man, but also to all of its employees past and present. What has been achieved has only been possible thanks to their constant commitment. On 19 July, we were pleased to see a number of Securiton “veterans” with more than ten years of employment at a dinner on board the Niederhorn on Lake Thun, where the company expressed its sincere gratitude for their service. To mark the company’s 25th anniversary, the Executive Board presented all employees with a gold coin to thank them for what they have achieved and to also lay the foundations for Securiton’s future success.
