On 13 May 1989, the papers reported a change to the partnership between Securiton AG and Ascom Hasler AG, which had been agreed two years previously. On 1 June 1989, Securiton, under the leadership of Manager Hans Winzenried, assumed full responsibility for Ascom Hasler AG's intrusion and fire alarm systems division on 1 June 1989. The approximately 100 specialists working here will be working for us from this date on, whether at head office in Zollikofen or at the offices throughout Switzerland.
The new form of cooperation strengthens the partnership agreement concluded with Ascom Hasler AG just over two years ago. The Securitas companies have maintained friendly relations with the Ascom companies for many years. Ascom Autophon is the supplier of the tried-and-tested radios used by Securitas on a daily basis in security services. The new Securitas computer – which will play a major role in shaping the work on the alarm control panels in the coming years – also comes from Solothurn, where Ascom Autophon AG is based. In turn, all Ascom companies are good Securitas or Securiton customers, whether for surveillance services or security systems such as the one installed in the new Ascom Gfeller building in Bern-Bümpliz. Also noteworthy is Securitel, which was developed in collaboration with Ascom Gfeller and is very popular among Securiton’s private customers.
In recent years, Ascom Hasler AG has become a major player in the Swiss market as a provider of communication, security and IT systems. Particular attention was paid here to the aspect of holistic solutions incorporating both communication and security. Alarm management systems that combine a wide range of security systems, such as intrusion, fire or access control systems, have simplified operation and support for Ascom Hasler customers. With this in mind, Ascom Hasler AG has been using SecuriLine intrusion and hold-up detection systems developed by Securiton for almost two years.
Both companies will now concentrate entirely on their main areas of specialisation in future, but will also be able to offer integrated solutions for communication and security on the market as general contractors.
For Securiton, this newly defined cooperation represents an important stage in its development over the coming years. Its market position in the field of fire and intrusion systems will be significantly strengthened. Securiton customers will also have access to systems for holistic solutions incorporating communication and security from the Ascom product range. For the 1990s, both companies have set themselves the goal of developing and marketing security systems optimally adapted to the ISDN age. We would like to warmly welcome the Ascom employees to the Securitas Group. Together, we will overcome the challenges that await us in the coming years.
