1989 Special appearances at trade fairs

The International Trade Fair for Security, which took place in Zurich from 23 to 26 May 1989, has become one of the most important events in this field in Europe. Across 300 square metres, our Group exhibited its products under the motto “Welcome to the Security Centre of the Securitas Group”. Compared to 1986, this represents a 50% increase in the amount of exhibition space. This made it possible to exhibit individual systems according to their application.  Elsewhere, a Securiton product even won an award at the Inventions Geneva fair.

167 exhibitors presented their products, systems and services across an area of more than 12,000 m2. In addition to national suppliers, almost all leading international manufacturers were also present with their Swiss representatives or their own branch office. Around 11,500 visitors were able to find out about the latest in the field of security technology.

Securiton sector

Our tried-and-tested intrusion/hold-up alarm system was a focal point in the intrusion detection sector. Also on display were the wall-mounted compact control panel, the floor-standing modular control panel and the corresponding display and remote-control units. The exhibition was complemented by various detectors for external and perimeter monitoring, transmitters and receivers for personal protection and the Securitel alarm system. The picture detector, which was recently awarded the Vermeil Medal at the Inventions Geneva fair, was also on show. In a separate room, we also presented our new IT system ILS 400 in combination with the well-known lLS 500.

In the fire detection sector, the focus was on the three software-controlled fire alarm control panels. The new small fire alarm control panel was also on show here. In addition to the conventional fire detectors, the complete range of intelligent automatic fire detectors with trend evaluation was also on display. This was in addition to the TRANSAFE tunnel fire detection system and the RAS 51 aspirating smoke detection system.

Picture detector takes home award

More than 1,000 inventions aroused the interest of 90,000 visitors to the Inventions Geneva fair. We are pleased to report that Securiton’s new picture detector attracted an unexpected amount of interest from visitors, the press and the jury. Securiton was awarded the Vermeil Medal by the international jury, an award that everyone involved can be proud of – first and foremost, the father of the detector itself, Pierre Spycher.
