As we all know, the mission statement of a company determines the day-to-day actions of its employees. It helps to understand one’s activities as part of the whole, regardless of the hierarchical position, thus contributing to customer satisfaction. The new Securiton mission statement recently issued to employees takes account of today’s challenges and forms the basis of the process management system. It contains key messages about customers, processes, employees and success. Beat Müller, head of Securiton, has taken the liberty of adding a few more details to the illustrations.
On the front page, we show that our business activities are largely based on individual solutions. Each new order means a different solution and a concept tailored to the customer (represented by the compasses). The individual projects and orders must be analysed in detail, with the eye also standing for security in general.
The importance of the “customers” …
The person shown is an employee. The sphere represents the upcoming process and the standard of quality (compass). But this is not just about our day-to-day business. We also need to use our knowledge and expertise to identify future customer needs. In order to survive on the market over the long term, these must be converted into products and services within a short period of time. Customer feedback serves to continuously improve our products and services. It is also important that “internal” customers are served in the same way as external clients! All employees must strictly adhere to defined rules (procedures).
… and the “processes”!
The sphere (the order to be carried out) passes through the different stages of a project. It is led by teams who repeatedly guide it in the appropriate direction using interfaces.
The processes developed jointly by employees and management give us the transparency we need to make continuous improvements. It must be our joint aim to become one of the best in the industry. This high bar affects all processes and is essential for success in the face of relentless competition. Identified potential for improvement must be implemented immediately!
… and the role of “people and leadership”?
As is illustrated here, further development is only possible with mutual trust, loyalty and acceptance. The team spirit is represented by the stable surface. Stability only comes when everyone is on the same page! That said, acting independently in the interests of the whole is also encouraged. Lifelong learning and improvement are the basis for every development. This enables the team to achieve top performance thanks to its expertise and professionalism.
And what about “success”?
We have confidence in our values. The woman represents the innovative company. The success is targeted and steered along tracks (lines). A clearly communicated market and product strategy enables employees to implement this strategy in an active way. As a progressive company, we encourage and challenge our employees and managers, thereby ensuring our long-term success. With this in mind, I would ask you to do everything you can to ensure the successful implementation of the mission statement.
