The combined smoke and heat detectors from Securiton have been a bestseller for a number of years. During these successful years, the popular fire detectors have been continuously improved, customer requirements implemented and the detectors constantly equipped with the latest technology. In the latest development, the detectors on site now tell the people in the affected area what they should do.
The MCD 573 X-SP combined smoke and heat detector is the latest addition to Securiton’s successful SecuriStar fire detector series. The predecessor first passed on the smoke and heat detection to a fire alarm system, which triggered a general alarm based on specified criteria. As part of further development, the individual detectors were equipped with an audible alarm function that emitted four different warning tones. In this way, it was possible to determine where the heat and/or smoke emissions were generated based on the respective tone.
The latest development – MCD 573 X-SP – now allows the detector that detects smoke and/or heat formation to also transmit voice information in addition to the warning tones. Three standard announcements available in four languages warn those present of the danger of a fire. “This is a fire alarm! Please leave the building immediately via the nearest escape routes!” and/or “Attention! Attention! Danger present. Please leave the building via the nearest exit!” These announcements can be used to gain important seconds and save lives in the event of an incident.
