2019 Securiton breaks new ground in digitisation

The security industry is increasingly using digital platforms to simplify the networking of products, systems, employees and customers. Until now, however, such digital platforms have tended to be viewed with scepticism. With its Secure Online Platform, the Securitas Group now has its own platform that meets the highest security standards. This opens up many new opportunities for Securiton AG.

Not so long ago, there was no Internet. The commercial use of this global network only started to get up to speed at the end of the last millennium. However, the open platform has always been viewed with scepticism – not least in the security industry.

Security is a top priority

In 2008, individual Securitas Group companies began offering online services for the first time. By 2014, new solutions were required for dealing with the latest technology. The Securitas Group then began with the development of its own digital platform, which is now used by several companies in the Group.

Every conceivable security precaution was taken into account when setting up the company’s own platform. The Secure Online Platform is housed in a Swiss data centre that was built according to the highest Tier IV security standard, has ISO 27001 certification, and is equipped with the latest technologies with an efficient energy balance.

A secure home for all

Securiton AG is one of the companies in the Securitas Group that uses the Secure Online Platform in a variety of ways, thus taking a step towards the Internet of Things (IoT). Securiton is setting the focus on the digitisation of existing business models. As a result, many processes can be made more efficient in day-to-day business, for example with RemoteAccess. RemoteAccess allows technicians secure remote access to customer systems. This means customers can be advised and supported better from afar. Securiton technicians can obtain targeted advance information to ensure optimum preparation, even in advance of troubleshooting on site. This allows them to put together the necessary equipment and the right material, reducing the impact on the customer’s operations.

The Securiton ServicePortal

For Securiton AG, moving into the Secure Online Platform is a quantum leap into the digital landscape. Employees with the corresponding authorisations can access the required applications and services from anywhere. Securiton is thus creating an entire digital ecosystem on the Secure Online Platform, which is given a face with “MySecuriton”. Central access for employees, customers and partners is made via the ServicePortal, an application portal set up by Securiton within the Secure Online Platform. It has a modular structure and shows each user the services they have activated. The ServicePortal is being continuously expanded with new web applications using a modular process. From here, users control the various remote services. However, it also houses administrative services such as the administration of users, authorisations, systems and much more.

Securiton’s Secure Online Platform is now constantly being expanded. Detailed information for all Securiton employees is initially available on the intranet page, with further information also made available to employees, customers and partners at a later date on the Securiton website (www.securiton.ch) under “MySecuriton”.
